Ebook Proofreading
- Purchase the proofreading service for the amount of words in your piece.
- Upload the EPUB, KPF, or PDF version of your piece.
- Submit your payment by completing the checkout process.
- A professional proofreader will review the entire file and flag any issues that they find with it.
- The piece is returned to you, as well as the flags, so that you can determine which issues you want to spend the time / money / effort to repair and which you don't.
- You use the flags to make a final round of adjustments to your piece prior to publication.
Timeline: Generally about 1 week per 25,000 words, though this can change based on multiple variables (such as office holidays, how long your payment takes to be finalized, etc.).
No editing: Proofreading is literally a reading of the proof copy of your book. This means that we will not be making any changes to your work, only flagging for you what we find that could be problematic. If we made changes, we may do things like alter the meaning of a phrase said in a particular scene, or screw up the careful book design that you've already paid for. So we leave the executive decision making about what to change, and the act of changing those things, up to you as the author.
