Book Design

The layout of your book impacts how easy and enjoyable it is to read. Having a professional design the paperback or hardcover version of your book in such a way that it looks good once printed and bound can make a difference in how your book is received by the public. The same goes for assuring a quality digital reading experience for those looking at your work on phones or tablets. 

NOTE: This service is for both ebook and print versions of your book. If you want only ebook design, purchase it here. 

IMAGES: If you have photos, diagrams, illustrations, worksheets, or other images that will be placed in your book, please have them properly prepared prior to submitting them to us. For instance, if you're including photos of people and their faces need to be blurred out, blur the faces out before sending us the photo. If you have graphic novel panels that text still needs to be added to, add the text before sending us the images. No image manipulation or editing will be completed by us. Please only send us print-ready files.

Book Design

1. Enter your word count and image count (photos, illustrations, worksheets, diagrams, etc.). If you're not sure, you can request an invoice so that you can pay the minimum now to get started and we'll invoice you for the rest after we do a word count and image count for you. 
2. Upload your manuscript (you can also upload examples of book designs that you like) and complete checkout to pay your service fee. 
3. We will create 3 design options for your book based on your content and target audience (and any samples you sent us showing book layouts you admire) and send those to you. 
4. You reply by telling us which one you like best, including any additional tweaks you'd like to see. 
5. We apply your preferred style to the entire manuscript, including your requested adjustments. 
6. We submit the full paperback file to you for review so you can submit a final round of adjustment requests (up to 10). 
7. We apply your requested adjustments and create the INDD and PDF versions of the book for paperback distribution. 
8. We then use that file to create the EPUB and KPF versions for digital distribution and send them to you for review. NOTE: We recommend reviewing the ebook version on multiple devices (smartphone and Kindle, laptop and desktop, etc.). 
9. You send up to ten (10) requested adjustments for the ebook file, and we apply them. 
10. We deliver the final INDD, EPUB, KCB, and KPF versions to you.

Timeline: Generally 1 - 2 weeks per 25,000 words, though this can change based on multiple variables (such as the complexity of your piece, office holidays, how long your payment takes to be finalized, etc.).
