Alpha Reading

1. Review our terms and conditions and ask any questions you have before making a purchase. 
2. Purchase the alpha reading service for the amount of words in your piece. If you don't know, upload your manuscript and check out using the "Invoice Me" option and we'll send you an invoice for the appropriate word count.
3. Click the 'Choose File' button under the quantity box to upload your manuscript.
4. A professional developmental editor will review your entire manuscript and provide a brief overview of feedback including the strengths, vulnerabilities, and recommended next steps. 
5. The feedback is submitted to you so that you can use it to enhance the piece during your next round of self-revisions. 

Timeline: Generally about 1 week per 30,000 words, though this can change based on multiple variables (such as how long it takes you to submit the file, office holidays, how long your payment takes to be finalized, etc.). 

No editing: An alpha read is a basic review of the book to help provide overarching feedback to the author. We will not be making any direct changes to the piece beyond adding our commentary to it. This service is meant for authors who want to get an outside, professional opinion on their piece so that they can take that feedback and apply it to their manuscript as they see fit. If you want someone to make changes on your behalf, you will need to purchase an actual editing service such as developmental editing or copyediting.
