"Staring at the TV Screen" by Madi Fiely
The static flickers across my eyes.
Images cemented into my mind.
Memories I can’t seem to forget.I wish someone would take away this television.
It keeps blaring that awful sound.
The hum of that tune underneath your breath,
is something I’ll never forget.I want to pop this VHS tape out.
Wrap myself up in those visionary tales.
Maybe those moments can be absorbed into my skin…I heard the thorny devil wanders the desert,
Soaking up rain water through its scales.For all one knows that could be me now.
Destined to a life of roaming an unforgivable place,
ravaged by your thoughts.Perhaps I could become one with those recollections.
An animal craving nourishment in the tiniest of doses.Not even receiving a droplet of sustenance to cure my desire.
